The parish of St. Albans was established in 1911. Prior to that, a mission for European settlers operated in the Alberni region from 1862 to 1865. An Indian Mission (known as the "Tahkaht Mission" and as the "West Coast Mission") was established in 1868 and operated until 1871. The district was occasionally visited by a priest from Comox, then a resident clergyman served the area briefly around 1899. The Church of All Saints had been completed the previous year. The parish was visited by an itinerant priest (once per month) until 1901, when a resident clergyman was again appointed. In 1911, the parishes of St. Alban's and All Saints' were paired under one priest. They were separated in 1947. On May 25, 1952 a second Church of St. Alban's was dedicated.
The church of All Saints Alberni was deconsecrated March 10, 2004 with many of the parishioners joining St. Albans’ Port Alberni though a memorandum of agreement.
In 2001 Christ the King Lutheran Church and St Albans became a shared ministry and in March 2004 they all came under the new name Trinity Anglican Lutheran Church.
