This Sunday marks the Church’s new year, beginning with Advent on the Liturgical Calendar. Rev. Susan will be conducting the service.  There will be a baptism!

1. Come to the Christmas Market and Tea tomorrow from 11-2.
2. HEAT AND SERVE CHRISTMAS TAKE OUT TURKEY DINNER. FOOD PREPARED BY OUR VERY OWN CHEF JOZIE.  Meal will be turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, mixed vegetables, cranberry sauce. Also, dessert of Christmas baked goodies. Dinner for one, $25.00- Dinner for Two $50.00. You can order more, this is just an outline. Cash or e-tranfer to treasurer trinityportalberni .ca you order on line on the church web site. Order yours now. See Dannette at coffee time. Pick up will be December 24 from 12:00-4:00.
3. Mitten Tree, we will be having the mitten tree again this year, so all you wonderful knitters let’s see your talent. Susi has found a few tubs of wool in her mom's craft room and would be most happy to give it out to knitters. Wool will be set out on tables in the hall, so take a look. I you are not into knitting and crocheting, please consider purchasing, and donating scarves, mittens, toques or socks.

A note from Pamela:

This Sunday Nancy Wilmot from the Scoop will be coming at 11:45to do a shoot for our Community Carol Sing.  We need a crowd of people in the church to sing one Christmas Carol - not more than 5 minutes.  Then she will be interviewing David and Pamela.  Please go for coffee and to greet the newly baptized and her family and then when asked, come back into the church for 5 minutes.  Then we can all return to the celebration!

An Invitation to Morning Prayer

Below is a message and invitation from Bishop Anna Greenwood-Lee:

Amidst the chaos and darkness of our current world, I find it helpful to begin each day with morning prayer, a short Anglican service of scripture readings and prayers that reconnects me with God, with our tradition and with ancient wisdom. While it was my practice to say or read morning prayer using the Misson of St. Clare (CLICK HERE), I’ve recently switched to using the Church of England app that allows me to listen to morning prayer, beautifully read and beautifully sung (CLICK HERE). If you’re not a morning person, both have evening and night prayer as well. As you are able and as suits your schedule, I’d invite you, this Advent, to also make the daily office part of your spiritual life.
