The service this year is led by the people of the Cook Islands.
World Day of Prayer is an international, is an ecumenical event that began almost a century ago, bridging social, geographic, and political barriers. Over the decades, it has been an important ministry for women in Canada as they faithfully lead ecumenical services within their communities year after year. Some 1,048,000 people in 98 countries share worship on this day either with online services or local services.
World Day of Prayer has been the Canadian partner of the Fellowship of the Least Coin (FLC) since the 1970s. FLC is a prayer movement focused on social justice and solidarity. WICC has also been active in advocacy and social justice education, including conferences focused on human trafficking and magazines exploring today’s faith and justice issues.

We Are One Body:
Inviting Your Wisdom and Prayers
On March 22-23, people from across the BC Synod will meet for a two-day conversation focused on exploring innovative ways to collaborate across congregations/geographies as we consider the challenges and opportunities ahead.
As you think about the future, as Lutherans engaged in the work of the Gospel across BC:
We would like to get input from as many people in the BC Synod as possible. Please respond before March 14th. You can access the survey here, or you can submit them to Susi or Geerry.
Reminders:
Anglican journal for your reading along with the Canadian Lutheran Magazine Available in the narthex.
Community Cupboard:
Please support this ministry. The need is great. Now that we have winter, things like hand and foot warmers would be much appreciated. They are sometimes on sale at Canadian Tire. Or you have them at home you could bring them to the cupboard. Also, much appreciated are things like oatmeal biscuit packs with chocolate for energy.
Kitchen Workers
Please help in the kitchen occasionally, or bring goodies for coffee time after the Sunday service.
